Recipe Ingredients
Are your eyes playing tricks on you? They’re not! These scrumptious, bite sized appetizers come together with just three ingredients. Find all the details in the recipe card below.
- white mushrooms – remove the stems. You can carefully hollow out the mushroom caps a little extra if you want to put more cheese filling in them
- soft goat cheese – feel free to use another soft cheese, such as blue cheese or cream cheese. Both of these alternatives work really well with this recipe
- bacon slices – don’t use very thick-cut bacon as the balance will be lost. I like to use thin strips and sometimes cut the slices of bacon to the right size
How To Make Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Mushrooms
Start by cleaning the mushrooms and removing the stems. You can scoop out the caps slightly so you can fit more goat cheese inside, if you like.
CLEANING TIP: Avoid washing mushrooms under the tap, as they absorb a lot of water and lose their flavor. It’s best to use a mushroom brush to clean them instead.
Next, fill each mushroom cap generously with the soft goat cheese and wrap a slice of bacon around each one.
Place the stuffed and wrapped mushrooms in a baking dish that’s been lightly greased with olive oil, and bake for 25 minutes at 350°F/180°C (conventional oven).
These are best enjoyed straight away!
