Some quick facts
My name is Laura, I am 32 years old and live in the Netherlands. I have been blogging since 2010 and have the largest baking blog in the Netherlands with over 4 million page views per month. Now, 13 years later, I am working hard to translate my recipes for this English baking blog.
Blogging all started as a hobby, but since 2014 Laura’s Bakery is my full-time job. I also no longer do this on my own and have a nice team working with me.
Blogging is not the only thing I do, either. I write columns for a Dutch weekly magazine, have written several baking books (in Dutch) and have also developed several collections of Laura’s Bakery baking products that are sold at a drugstore.
Books and baking products
In 2016, I launched my very first baking book. This book focuses on baking basics and how to vary with them. Currently, I have already published 6 baking books and I’m working hard on book number 7 which will be published in October 2023. All my books are written in Dutch.
In 2021, I launched my very first product line of baking products. These baking products are available exclusively at a Dutch drugstore. At this moment I have already developed 7 collections and am already working on new plans.
About Laura
I was baking a lot as a little girl and was always allowed to help in the kitchen. You will imagine that I found baking to be very interesting. Over the years I started doing more and more myself and the recipes became a bit more complicated. In 2009 I went a step further by entering the world of decorating cakes, cupcakes and cookies. That’s also when I started blogging (in Dutch). These days I don’t decorate with fondant and marzipan much anymore, I now mostly use fruit and other delicious ingredients to make the most beautiful cakes. And Laura’s Bakery is no longer sweet, the blog is full of appetizers, quiches and other goodies. From sweet baking to appetizers, there is a little bit of everything here!
Besides baking, I like to take beautiful trips with my camera in hand and love discovering what is eaten in other countries, especially when it comes to sweets. I also love being at home to cuddle with my bunny, read a book or cook delicious meals for family and friends. Being bored is something that is not in my vocabulary.
