Servings: 12 pieces

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry*
  • 80 grams goat cheese
  • 12 whole walnuts
  • Honey
  • 1 egg beaten

Instructions

  • Cut the puff pastry into 12 equal squares. Press each square into a cup of a mini muffin pan and prick the bottoms with a fork.
  • Divide the goat cheese among the pastry cups. Press a walnut into each one, then drizzle with a little honey. Brush the exposed edges of the puff pastry with beaten egg.
  • Bake for about 14 minutes at 435°F/225°C (conventional oven) until the puff pastry is golden brown.

Tips

  • Use enough puff pastry to cut twelve squares large enough to line the cups of a mini muffin pan. 1 large sheet of pastry should be enough.
  • I have used sheets that measure 12 x 12 cm/4.7 x 4.7 inches. Each separate square measures 1.2 x 1.2 inch or 3 x 3 cm. If you can't find smaller puff pastry sheets, you can use any size you want as you cut them into smaller sizes anyway!
How to store
These puff pastry bites are delicious both warm and cold. If you’re short on time, you can prepare them ahead and reheat them before serving.
