This is how you make homemade Easter eggs for the Easter holidays - how fun is that! The filling is made of cookie dough, and of course you decorate the Easter eggs with sprinkles.

Total15 minutes
Servings: 25 pieces

Ingredients

  • 100 grams unsalted butter
  • 60 grams granulated sugar
  • 115 grams light brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 225 grams all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 100 grams chocolate chips
  • 300 grams milk or dark chocolate
  • Sprinkles as desired

Instructions

  • Beat the butter and both sugars together in a bowl until creamy.
  • Add the milk and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  • Add the flour, salt, and chocolate chips and knead into a firm dough.
  • Divide the dough into 25 equal pieces and shape them into Easter eggs. Refrigerate the cookie dough eggs for at least 1 hour.
  • When ready to finish the eggs, melt 2/3 of the chocolate using a double boiler. Once melted, remove the bowl from the heat and add the remaining chocolate. Stir until fully melted.
  • Dip the eggs one by one into the chocolate and place them on a sheet of parchment paper. Decorate with sprinkles before the chocolate sets. Let the chocolate harden completely.
Tips
To kill any potential bacteria, spread the flour out on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake it in the oven for 5 minutes at 180°C/350°F (conventional oven).
How to store
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
