Cream the butter and sugar together until light and smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until fully incorporated.
Add the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda all at once. Knead or mix into a smooth cookie dough. Finally, add the M&M’s and mix until evenly distributed throughout the chocolate dough.
