Halloween Oreo Spiders

With just a few steps, you can turn Oreos into Halloween Oreo spiders. A fun project to do with kids!
Prep Time5 minutes
Cook Time5 minutes
Total Time10 minutes
Servings: 10 cookies

Ingredients

  • 10 Oreos
  • Licorice laces string licorice

Eyes

  • M&M’s, royal icing eyes, Wilton candy eyes
  • Optional: black edible marker or melted dark chocolate to draw pupils
  • Chocolate spread melted chocolate, or icing (to stick the eyes on)

Instructions

  • Cut the licorice laces into smaller pieces. I cut one strand into 16 pieces.
  • Take an Oreo and insert the small licorice pieces as legs between the two cookies, four on each side. Are they not staying in place? Use a toothpick to poke small holes first, this will help them stay put.
  • Attach the eyes of your choice onto the Oreo. I used chocolate spread, but melted chocolate or icing works too.
  • For the M&M eyes, I drew pupils with a black edible marker, but you could also use melted dark chocolate. The Wilton candy eyes can be found at baking or cake decorating stores.
