Marinated Mozzarella Balls

A simple yet delicious recipe: marinated mozzarella balls. A perfect appetizer with fresh herbs.

Ingredients 

  • 150 grams mozzarella balls about 20 pieces
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic large
  • 1 sprig fresh basil
  • 4 sprigs fresh thyme
  • ½ tsp chili flakes
  • Black pepper and coarse sea salt

Instructions

  • Drain the mozzarella balls and place them in a bowl with the olive oil.
  • Press the garlic, finely chop the basil, and strip the thyme leaves from the sprigs. Add to the mozzarella and stir to combine.
  • Season with chili flakes, black pepper, and salt. I used coarse sea salt for extra flavor.
Tips
Not a fan of heat? About ¼ tsp of chili flakes adds flavor without much spice.
How to store
Once marinated, the mozzarella balls can be kept covered in the fridge for a few days.
